HEATRAE SADIA MEGAFLO SERVCING

Unvented Cylinder Megaflo Servicing:

Servicing Procedures and charging.

Megaflo cylinders are a high quality product.
Maintenance is minimal. With just a handful of external controls, there is little to go wrong.
However, the internal air gap needs recharging regularly.
This is a reasonably straightforward process and should be carried out at least annually.
Heatrae Sadia Megaflo Servicing
An indication that the air gap needs charging is a visual warning via the Tundish.
If you have water dripping or discharging through the Tundish, the air gap needs servicing.
This could also mean the Safety Valves have failed, so a service is strongly advised.
TUNDISH DISCHARGING
Servicing is minimal.
You shouldn't require any spare parts during a service, unless there's a fault, or faulty component.

Discharge is normal through the Tundish (left), when the air gap needs recharging, or when the safety valves are starting to fail.

This is particularly noticeable when the cylinder is heating up, or has reached temperature.

Time to give someone a call...

Servicing DOES NOT include replacing faulty components or repairs.

Servicing:

  • Partially drain cylinder
  • Recharge air gap

Megaflo Burnt Out, Blown
Here we have (on the left) a prime example, and one of many we've encountered, of a Megaflo that has been destroyed by unqualified and untrained operatives.

This particular installation was carried out by the customers builder and so called plumber.

The whole installation is appalling.

The electrical system caught fire, and the occupants were lucky the house didn't burn to the ground.. While they were still in it!

This property is in East London, and is typical of Builders taking short cuts, to extract as much profit as possible, rather than use qualified, experienced engineers.

Personally, I have little sympathy for the owner.

You gets, what you pays for, me thinks!
